Kevin: Great White North

Greetings from the Great White North,

We hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. It's hard to believe December is here already. I find December always sneaks up on me, kind of like a cold or a headache. Although December is cold and often white, I'm happy it's here. Christmas will be here before we know it which also means you need to see the Red Umbrella Christmas list so you know what to get each member.

Let's start with Jeremy: Jer would like an F-18 Fighter Jet. As the price of fuel is finally coming down, now is the perfect time to purchase an F-18 Fighter jet on Ebay. Prices start at $500,000.00 so not too bad.

Dennis: Oh, Dennis is always fun to shop for. Last year I got Dennis a Harley Davidson. But after wiping out and breaking every bone in his body he decided to sell it. This year Dennis would like a jet pack. If you have never seen anyone use a jet pack before, check out this link of a man using one on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gcurwcPs3U.

Jay: A 737 or 747 jumbo jet should be just fine. John Travolta, I know you got one so hand it over. Not sure how we'll fit it under the Christmas tree, but that won't really matter. Also, Jay would love a Volvo S80 in Black.

Kevin: As always I would like a brand new Prevost tour bus. Here is a link in case you need help. I would also love a $500 gift card from the Outback Steakhouse.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope no one takes me seriously.

Talk to you soon.

KEVIN: Been a while

Hello folks,

It's been quite some time. In fact, I think it's been a couple of years since I last wrote a blog for the band. My excuses are many but none of them are really that great so I do apologize. Regardless, here I am. Although I do excel at Ebonics (courtesy of Chris Law), slang and sarcasm, my grammatical skills are lacking. Lucky for me, my fiancee and my drummer are grammatical whizzes, so I'll give this a go.

We're loving the fact that we get to play new tunes night after night. If you're a musician you know how frustrating it can be to play the same songs for years straight. If you're not a musician, then let me explain it to you like this: Playing the same songs for 3 years straight is kind of like wearing the same clothes for 3 years straight. No matter how cool your jeans or Diesel shoes are, after time passes you begin to long for something else. Yes, you can accessorize and spice things up, but at the end of the day it's still the same outfit. The band has indeed been longing for something else; something fun and something rocking. That is exactly what happened when the Michaelis brothers locked themselves away in the studio for months and months. The rock and roll that has been buried in our souls, has finally emerged. We hope you get the chance to come and see us live, or go out and buy the record.

It's our goal for the coming year, to bring you more photos, videos/podcasts, blogs, and of course nonsense and sarcasm. We hope you enjoy.

Thanks for your support.
Kevin

Jeremy: New Album

Through the months of january through August this year 7spin records and friends helped us get a new recording studio built in an old coal boiler room. Originally there was a massive one ton boiler plate in the middle of the room with heaps of old coal dust everywhere. Somehow we thought it would end up looking artsy.

I think most of the album was made while the studio still looked like a bomb had dropped. Living and surviving was the first complete work to come out of the abandoned basement. Hope you enjoy.

Also, we still haven't decided on a name for the place. Any ideas?
